Blog: Privacy

With the ability to share information online comes the loss of privacy. Everyone's information being spread across the internet is out of their control once they have used social media. Companies like Amazon track your searches and information to show more of the products you would possibly buy. Even sites like Facebook keep track of your likes and dislikes and locations you have been to help cater to your "needs."

Once these sites have even the slightest ability to conform themselves around you it is very clear that your information is just floating out in the web and can be received by others. Even regularly used social media sites are a war zone of privacy and confidentiality. Some times you can only be as private and the person you are standing next to, and the person next to them. Pictures posted at parties could have your named tagged all over it even though you did not participate in any. The focus of social media has definitely choked our dreams of complete privacy.
